“Your Confidence in The Lord”

March 2022 – Greetings to you in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Recently, a good friend of mine quoted a verse of Scripture that has stuck with me ever since. “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” [Hebrews 10:35-36] God showed us His will through the Bible, and when we believe and do what it says we can patiently wait for the promise to be fulfilled.

For example, we read in Jeremiah 30:3, “For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.” It may have taken thousands of years, but God’s Word came to pass in 1948! Israel became a nation again. The land had changed hands many times over the course of those years, but God fulfilled His promise to them. There were times that it looked impossible for Israel to exist as a nation because they were so scattered, and the people who controlled the land were strong and refused to give it up to anyone. But God, who is true to His Word, changed world events to make a way for His people to possess the land of promise. If He can do that for a nation, changing what looked impossible, over a period of thousands of years, doesn’t it stand to reason that He can fulfill His promise to you personally?

My confidence in what the Lord promised us through the Lord Jesus Christ has a great recompense of reward. Even when I struggle, even when I mess up, even when things look impossible, I am told to have patience; for what He has promised, He is able to accomplish! I have seen people completely turn away from the Lord, and after God spoke His will about them, they have given Him their whole heart! One day when I was 18, someone testified to me and I told them, “It’s not for me!” But within a matter of a few weeks, the Lord manifested His presence to me in a way that I became a believer! That was over 45 years ago, and I have never wanted to turn away from Him since! I have had my struggles and short-comings, but the Lord has been faithful to fulfill every promise to me! He has been very merciful and kind to me and my family.

Do not cast away your confidence in the Lord, for it still has a great recompense of reward! Without you even aware of it, the Lord is arranging events in your life so that when the time is right you can easily handle what He gives you. He never leaves us alone. He is always working towards bringing to pass His perfect will in your life! After doing His will, have patience. You will receive His promise.

Paul wrote,” Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” [Philippians 1:6] Make no mistake: the Lord is not done working in and through you! Place your confidence in the will of God our Father. He will accomplish all that He said He would! May God bless you!

                                    Sincerely,

                                    Rev. Daniel Bossidy
